A mixologist and bartender share overlapping roles, but mixologists focus more on the artistry and innovation of crafting unique cocktails, while bartenders provide efficient and friendly service to patrons.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Beverage Preparation and Service:
Create and serve classic and innovative cocktails according to standardized recipes or customer preferences.
Pour, mix, and serve beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Offer recommendations based on customers’ tastes and preferences.
2. Creativity and Craftsmanship (Mixologist Focus):
Design unique cocktail menus or signature drinks for the establishment.
Experiment with new ingredients, techniques, and garnishes to enhance beverage offerings.
Stay updated on mixology trends, tools, and techniques.
3. Customer Interaction:
Greet customers warmly, taking orders and providing exceptional service.
Address customer questions, complaints, or concerns professionally.
Build rapport with regular patrons to create a loyal customer base.
4. Bar Maintenance and Management:
Ensure the bar area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
Perform inventory management, including ordering and rotating stock.
Monitor alcohol consumption and enforce legal drinking age regulations.
5. Team Collaboration:
Coordinate with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to provide seamless service.
Train and mentor junior staff or barbacks as needed.
6. Compliance and Safety:
Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
Follow responsible alcohol service practices.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a bartender or mixologist.
Strong knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, and cocktail recipes.
Ability to handle high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Creativity and attention to detail in crafting beverages
Certification in bartending or mixology (advantage)

Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items.
